finding hope

the past couple of weeks i've had no extra mental or spiritual bandwidth.
one reason is last weekend,
i organized a trip for 20 unitarian universalists
to go to the Arizona/Mexico border.

it was a very meaningful trip
(you can read more on my work blog).

even though this blog is more for posting about our
green home renovations and all things vegan,
it's hard to post this week without lifting up something from last weekend.

and so i am sharing some of the art found on the border wall
in nogales, sonora, mexico.

it is a reminder to me that in the midst of despair, pain, separation, need,
people also find hope, inspiration, courage, and Love.

wisteria rosemary wreaths

as our yard wrangling continues, copious amounts
of wisteria and rosemary branches pile up.

this morning ryan had a brilliant idea: make wreaths out of it!

he is enormously clever, and went right outside and started making them.

i love the bits of rosemary flowers peeking out.

they couldn't be sweeter, and we want to make enough for friends.
