We enjoyed our very first homegrown artichoke today - the taste was fresh and delicate. So good in fact that we scarfed it down sans any kind of dipping sauce.
And I have to say - with slugs having their way with my bean, basil, and pepper plants, it is even more satisfying to see these thriving 'chokes.
